CFP to workshop: Promotion of research results among youth (Latvia)

Academic research in social sciences and humanities often due to its structure and form is not reached by young people. That serves as a reason not only for disinformation among young people about social science and humanities, but as well for lack of understanding about social and political processes on different  levels. Therefore University of Latvia Philosophy and Sociology Institute in close cooperation with Baltic Philosophy Network is organizing workshop on promotion of research in field of humanities. During workshop it is foreseen to:

(1) exchange existing practices and methods for promotion of research among young people and potential researchers;
(2) compare and analyze existing practices and results;
(3) discuss future perspectives on cooperation for promotion of humanities and social studies;
(4) strengthen the network of young researchers in Baltic Sea region.

Timeframe:
Workshop will be held from 15th till 19th of August, 2011, in Latvia.

Participants:
Young researchers (PhD or Masters students) interested in promotion of research results, networking and advertising humanities.

Objectives:
To share among young people and potential students existing experiences in promotion of research results, research and researcher as profession. To create young researchers network and strengthen the cooperation among humanities researchers in Baltic Sea region.

Language:
The working language of the seminar will be English.

The trip will be organized and covered by the organizers.

Accommodation:
Board and lodging* are provided and paid for by the University of Latvia Philosophy and Sociology Institute.
